9月16日、米国科学財団（National Science Foundation: NSF）は、統合活動諮問委員会（Advisory Committee for Integrative Activities）の再設置を公表した。年間予算12万9,400ドルを割り当て、9月30日から正式に運営を開始する。評価プロセス改善に向け助言を行う委員会で、これまで同庁の主要事業審査を行なっていたが、2025年4月に同委員会を含む11の委員会が廃止された経緯がある。今回の再稼働についてNSFは、職務遂行上同委員会の活動が不可欠であると判断し、これに伴い、多様な視点や専門知識確保に向け、学術界や産業界などから最大24人の委員を選任する。NSFは「同委員会から得られる知見は、政府内の他組織では代替できない」と再設置について強調しており、今後は科学技術分野における統合的施策や重要事業の審査や助言を通じて、事業推進に寄与していく方針を示した。
