商務省（Department of Commerce）と国土安全保障省（Department of Homeland Security）は5月30日、「ボットネットやその他の自動的かつ分散的脅威に対抗するインターネット及び通信エコシステムの対応力強化について（Enhancing the Resilience of the Internet and Communications Ecosystem Against Botnets and Other Automated, Distributed Threats）」と題する報告書を公表した。報告書は、2017年の「連邦ネットワーク及び重要インフラの強化に関する行政命令（Executive Order on Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure)」への応答として作成されたもので、政府や市民社会、業界が、ボットネットやその他の類似サイバー攻撃の脅威を劇的に削減できる行動についてガイドを提示している。報告書は、インターネット・エコシステムの対応力強化につながる5つの補完的目標と、それらの目標を達成するために鍵となる20件以上の行動を提案している。
