エネルギー省（Department of Energy）のアーネスト・モニツ長官（Ernest Moniz）と内務省（Department of Interior）のサリー・ジュエル長官（Sally Jewell）は9月9日、米国内のオフショア風力エネルギーの開発を引き続き加速させるための協調的戦略として、「全国オフショア風力戦略：米国内のオフショア風力業界の開発を促進する（National Offshore Wind Strategy: Facilitating the Development of the Offshore Wind Industry in the United States）」を発表した。本戦略は、2050年までに米国内に86ギガワットのオフショア風力エネルギーの導入を実現するための一助となり得るもので、米国のオフショア風力エネルギーの現状、導入のコストと時間を短縮するために必要な行動とイノベーション、業界の成長と成功を支援するためのロードマップが提示されている。
