疾病対策予防センター（Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: CDC）傘下の国立労働安全衛生研究所（National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health: NIOSH）は12月20日、「ナノテク職場の保護：2013-2016年NIOSHナノテク研究及びガイダンス戦略計画（Protecting the Nanotechnology Workforce: NIOSH Nanotechnology Research and Guidance Strategic Plan, 2013-2016）を発表した。今回発表された計画はNIOSHが2009年11月に発表した計画の改訂版であり、毒物学や職場における露呈について基本的な理解を深めることで、ナノマテリアル工学の発見や開発、商業化の過程において適切なリスク管理慣行が実施されるようにするためのロードマップとなるものである。
