バイデン副大統領と運輸省（Department of Transportation）のビクター・メンデス副長官（Victor Mendez）は8月26日、運輸省アメリカ建設局（Build America Bureau）の「鉄道再建及び改良のための財政（Railroad Rehabilitation and Improvement Financing: RRIF）」プログラムを通じて、アムトラック社（Amtrak）に24億5,000万ドルの融資を行うと発表した。アムトラック社は、この融資を基に、北東コリドー（Northeast Corridor）のアセラ・サービス（Acela service）向けに新たに28車体を購入する他、線路や駅、プラットフォームの改良を行う。
