環境保護庁（Environmental Protection Agency: EPA）は11月16日、第11回年間グリーンパワー・リーダーシップ賞（11th annual Green Power Leadership Awards）の受賞機関として、全国19のEPAグリーンパワー・パートナー（Green Power Partners）機関を発表した。グリーンパワー・パートナーシップは、グリーンパワー（再生可能エネルギー）の利用増加を支援するプログラムで、約1,300件のパートナー機関が参加している。今回リーダーシップ賞を受賞する機関は、エンパイアステート・ビルディング（Empire State Building）、グーグル社（Google Inc.）、インテル社（Intel Corporation）、ワシントンDC、サンタクララ大学（Santa Clara University）など多岐に亘る。
