国防総省（Department of Defense）は10月4日、「技術及びプログラム保護ガイドブック（Technology and Program Protection (T&PP) Guidebook）」を出版したことを発表した。このガイドブックは、エンジニアや管理者に、DOD説明5000.83（DOD Instruction (DoDI) 5000.83）「技術的優位性を維持するための技術及びプログラム保護（Technology and Program Protection to Maintain Technological Advantage）」の実践に関するガイダンスを提供するもので、国防調達ガイドブック（Defense Acquisition Guidebook: DAG）の9章（Chapter 9）「プログラム保護（Program Protection）」に代わるものである。
