大統領府科学技術政策局（Office of Science and Technology Policy: OSTP）は10月29日、新設された「気候・環境部（Climate and Environment Division）」に5名が加わることを発表した。それらは、①アシスタント・ディレクター（気候・生物多様性担当）のパトリック・ゴンザレス博士（Assistant Director for Climate and Biodiversity Dr. Patrick Gonzalez）、②アシスタント・ディレクター（災害準備・対応担当）のケイト・ダーガン・マルキス氏（Assistant Director for Disaster Preparedness and Response Kate Dargan Marquis）、③アシスタント・ディレクター（生物多様性・保全科学担当）のヘザー・タリス博士（Assistant Director for Biodiversity and Conservation Science Dr. Heather Tallis）、④米国科学振興協会（American Association for the Advancement of Science: AAAS）レヴェル・フェロー（Revelle Fellow）のアン・マリー・カールトン博士（Dr. Ann Marie Carlton）、⑤・ジュニア政策補佐官のヘイリー・ケース－スコット氏（Junior Policy Advisor Haley Case-Scott）の5名。こうした動きは、気候危機と生物多様性の損失に対して、様々な見解から導き出された健全な科学をもって対処するというバイデン＝ハリス政権のコミットメントを強調する。
