環境保護庁（Environmental Protection Agency: EPA）は9月23日、第13回となる年間「グリーン・パワー・リーダーシップ・アワード（Green Power Leadership Award）」として、国内の再生可能電力市場の発展に貢献した21のグリーン・パワー・パートナー（Green Power Partner）と3件のサプライヤーを表彰した。具体的には「グリーンパワーの持続した卓越性（Sustained Excellence in Green Power）」部門をインテル社（Intel Corporation）などが、「年間グリーン・パワー・パートナー（Green Power Partners of the Year）」をシスコ・システムズ社（Cisco Systems, Inc.）などが受賞した。EPAはまた、第3回となる年間グリーン・パワー・コミュニティ・チャレンジ（Green Power Community Challenge）の勝者として、ワシントンDCとイリノイ州オーク・パークを発表した。
