米国とフィンランドの政府代表は4月5日、「量子情報科学技術に関する合同声明（Joint Statement on Cooperation in Quantum Information Science and Technology）」に署名し、両国の協力を強化する意向を表明した。この声明は、1995年以来実施されている「科学技術協定（Science and Technology Agreement）」を含め、20年以上に及ぶ強固な二国間関係を基盤としたものである。米国務省（Department of State）のモニカ・メディナ次官補（海洋・国際環境・科学問題局担当）（Monica P. Medina）（Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs）と、フィンランドの経済問題・雇用省（Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment）イノベーション・エンタープライズ財務局（Innovations and Enterprise Financing Department）のアイロナ・ルンドストローム事務局長（Ilona Lundström）（Director General）が、それぞれを代表して署名した。合同声明は、量子情報科学技術（QIST）及びQISTによって実現される分野での強みを活用し、革新的研究を追求し、未来の市場を成長させ、強力なサプライチェーンを構築し、技能と才能のある次世代を育成することに取り組む。
