エネルギー省（Department of Energy）のエネルギー効率・再生可能エネルギー局（Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy: EERE）は、燃料電池技術局（Fuel Cell Technologies Office: FCTO）に代わり、「水素・燃料電池技術の研究開発実証（Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Research, Development, and Demonstrations）」と題する資金提供公募（Funding Opportunity Announcement: FOA）を発表する意向を表明した（Notice of Intent）。公募は2月中旬に発表される計画である。今回のFOAでは、①燃料電池と水素技術の進展と、②燃料電池の応用の早期導入の実現、を目的として最高3,500万ドル（予算状況による）が提供される。
