ネットワーク・情報技術研究開発 （Networking and Information Technology Research and Development: NITRD）の国家調整局（National Coordination Office: NCO）は4月28日、人工知能（AI）分野における世界リーダーとしての地位確保に向け、2025年国家AI研究開発戦略（National Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Strategic Plan）の策定に向けた意見募集（Request for Information: RFI）を開始すると発表した。今後3～5年間における連邦政府独自の役割に焦点を当てた2023年度版の計画改訂に向け、民間投資が不十分な領域である基礎研究分野を優先し、基礎的なAIアルゴリズムの進化、次世代ハードウェアやアーキテクチャ、科学的発見と技術革新加速に向けたAI、国家安全保障や重要インフラなど様々な領域において、AI研究者、業界リーダーなどに加え、一般からの意見を広く募集する。締切は2025年5月29日午後 11 時 59 分 (東部時間) までで、詳細は公式ページを参照とのこと。
