国家情報長官室（Office of the Director of National Intelligence: ODNI）は9月4日、国際的なピッチコンテスト参加による技術流出を防ぐための新たな指針を発表した。国家防諜安全保障センター（National Counterintelligence and Security Center: NCSC）とカナダの安全保障情報局（Canadian Security Intelligence Service: CSIS）は、空軍特別捜査局（Air Force Office of Special Investigations: AFOSI）および経済安全保障・新興技術室（Office of Economic Security and Emerging Technology: OESET）と共同で、中国政府や中国共産党と関連する団体が主催する国際ピッチイベントに参加するリスクを警告している。NCSCは、国際的なピッチコンテストはイノベーションを育む場であるべきで、欧米の技術や人材の狩り場であってはならないとコメントを発表し、欧米の技術系スタートアップ企業に対して、こうしたイベント参加に伴うリスクと対策方法、事件の報告先などの詳細な情報を提供すると説明している。
