国立衛生研究所（National Institutes of Health: NIH）傘下の国立癌研究所（National Cancer Institute: NCI）は4月4日、科学専門家、癌のリーダー、患者擁護者などで構成されるブルー・リボン委員会（Blue Ribbon Panel）を発表した。同委員会は、ジョー・バイデン副大統領による全米癌ムーンショット・イニシアチブ（National Cancer Moonshot Initiative）におけるNCIの科学的方向性と目標について情報提供を行う。委員会は、大統領が指名した全国癌諮問委員会（National Cancer Advisory Board: NCAB）の作業部会として機能し、有識者としての科学的ガイダンスを癌コミュニティに提供する。
