エネルギー省（Department of Energy）は4月15日、トーマス・ジェファーソン国立加速器施設（Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility：TJNAF）の管理・運営（Management and operating: M＆O）契約の競争入札を開始すると発表した。同省傘下のTJNAFは、核物理学における画期的な科学技術の提供を使命とする国立研究所で、核物理学の研究や超伝導高周波加速器モジュール（Superconducting radiofrequency accelerator modules、クライオモジュール）の製造、また独自の施設・装置の運用も行っている。現行の契約は2025年5月31日に終了するが、現在1年間の延長手続きを行っているため、新規に採択された業者は実質2026年6月からの契約を結ぶことになる。これに向けて、同省は関心のある団体からの申請（Expressions of Interest：EOI）を、4月29日午後5時（米国東部夏時間）まで受け付けている。
