米国科学財団（National Science Foundation: NSF）は10月20日、傘下の技術イノベーション・パートナーシップ局（Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships: TIP）の評価に向けたデータ収集計画について一般からの意見を募集すると発表した。連邦官報（Federal Register）によると、技術移転、人材育成、地域イノベーション・エコシステムの3分野を対象に共通の評価基準を設けて、同局取り組みへの投資効果や実績を検証する計画となっている。具体的には、年約3,000人の主任研究者（Principal Investigators: PI）らを対象とした調査を実施する方針で、行政管理予算局（Office of Management and Budget: OMB）から最長3年間のデータ収集承認を得た上で、共通評価枠組みを確立していく方針である。締め切りは12月21日までとなっており、得られた意見をもとに評価手法の精査を進めていく。
