内務省は7月28日、同省土地管理局（Bureau of Land Management）が、アラスカ国家石油保留地（National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska）内の特別管理区域における制約の拡大・強化を提案する政策文書3件を撤回したことを発表した。撤回されたのは、①2024年7月に連邦官報（Federal Register）に公示された情報要求（RFI）「アラスカ国家石油保留地内特別区域（Special Areas within the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska）」、②2025年1月に発表された報告書「アラスカ国家石油保留地における保護の最大化（Maximizing Protection in the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska）」、③2025年1月発表のメモ「アラスカ国家石油保留地内特別区域土地管理局暫定管理（BLM Interim Management of Special Areas within the National Petroleum Reserve – Alaska）」、の3件である。撤回理由は、アラスカ州における豊富なエネルギー資源の本格的開発と米国エネルギー優位性の再強化というトランプ政権の方針に準拠するためとしている。なお、大統領府は、「アラスカの多大な潜在的資源の解放（Unleashing Alaska’s Extraordinary Resource Potential）」という大統領令と内務長官指令を、それぞれ2025年1月と2月に発表している。
